Acne

Many people think that acne is a condition of puberty, but in fact this is not necessarily the case. Acne can be caused in part by a disfunction of the kidneys.

Types of Acne
Acne is a major complication of the sebaceous glands and includes the following clinical forms:
Juvenile (Vulgarus) Acne;
Conglobated Acne;
Necrotic Acne;
Chelonian Acne;
Professional Acne.

Juvenile Acne
This is the most frequent form of acne and affects both sexes equally during puberty or in the period before its onset. It may last from the age of 12 to 25 or beyond. However, if you use my botanical creams, in time the acne will disappear. The symptoms of this skin ailment are various and constitute comedones, follicular papules, papula-pustules, or follicular pustules, nodes, small abscesses or scars. Symptoms appear in various combinations and most often localize in regions where sebaceous glands are found, i.e., the face, (cheeks), forehead, chin, shoulders and the back and chest. The first symptoms to appear are comedones. These are small black plugs of sebum and oxidized keratin found in skin cells. Oxidation is a result of consuming the wrong foods (see “Acne: Foods to Avoid” in Part III: Dietary Guidelines for Skin Conditions).
If you do not abstain from these as soon as you notice the onset of the problem, the condition will become more and more aggravated.
You may then resort to seeing a cosmetician, but if she is not experienced with acne treatment, it may easily cause even worse results. The cosmetician will extract the plugs in your pores through lateral pressure, applied by squeezing the skin between the fingers, or by the use of a comedone extractor. However, this extraction technique does not improve, but rather exacerbates the acne and scars. If you are experiencing this situation, apply the Rostoplasc night cream which will stop the making of scars.
The acne that has been raised to the surface of the skin during this procedure is like a nest of worms that grows and multiplies, spreading to many parts of the face and often infecting even the blood. The capillary vessel opens and a bleeding lesion forms, along with scarring.
When the plug is internal, the blood vessel breaks and the smaller vessel (that cannot be seen with the unaided eye) become empty, and without circulation, produce scars or pits in the skin’s surface.
Beware! This is what the inexperienced cosmetician can cause!
Further, if you wipe your face with the same towel 3 or 4 times the blood and bacteria left behind on the towel will transfer back to the face. This results in what is called juvenile (vulgarus) acne, though it may also be referred to as pustular Acne. This alternative name describes the tendency of comedones to develop a congestive reaction followed by the appearance of numerous red papules (raised bumps) containing bacteria as described above. The forced elimination of the bacteria is accomplished by squeezing the skin around it. This expels the plug together with the bacteria and a brownish yellow crust forms over it, sealing the lesion.
Small inflamed nodes may also appear, which if extracted, using the procedure mentioned above, will expel a bloody secretion. With further pressure a thicker mass composed of sebum will emerge. This latter one is more potent and it could cause the formation of large, painful bumps.

Conglobated Acne
This type of acne is more rarely encountered. It is polymorphous and occurs most often in young adult males. As in vulgarus acne, conglobated acne is characterized by lesions, papules, follicular pustules (which may be either superficial or profound), and numerous cysts of varying sizes. When disturbed, they open slightly at first, often times enlarging as time passes. Finally unattractive scars begin to appear. The lesions localize themselves on the face and scalp and may continue and evolve for years. For treatment, I recommend an herbal tea for enhanced kidney function. (See “Tea Treatment” in Part 3: Dietary Guidelines for Skin Conditions).

Necrotic Acne
Follicular papillae have pustules which look like brown or dark crusts, surrounded by an inflamed ring. They are found on the forehead, hairline and temples. Characterized by these signs, necrotic acne’s evolution is chronic and it is found in men aged 30-40 years. It is very difficult to treat. Hypertrophic acne resembles necrotic acne and it appears in elderly men who suffer from rosacea.

Chelonian Acne
Cheloid acne is a chronic form of folliculitis versus acne, and is found on the back of the neck. It is usually seen in males, 40-50 years of age. Treatment with special creams can helps cure this type of acne.

Professional Acne
Professional acne is caused by medications containing chemicals. Examples include: tar (e.g. oleum, candini), iodine, bromine, cortisone, and creams which contain volatile oils. This type of acne appears on the back of the neck, the face, the cheek bones, forehead, nose and chin and between the eyebrows. If left untreated, this acne turns into rosacea, which looks like fine vascular arborizations.
If this condition is associated to seborrhea and keratosis, it leads to the appearance of pustules. The absence of comedones distinguishes rosacea from acne pustulosa. Several factors cause these conditions: Low acid gastritis, constipation, lolitis, strong feelings such as fear, various foods. See section on “Foods to Avoid” and “Foods that are Acceptable.”
